Utica City School District Appoints Michelle Hall to Lead Career and Technical Education Program
UTICA, NY—The Utica City School District Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Michelle Hall as the Director of the Career and Technical Education program at their board meeting yesterday evening.
Michelle Hall will transition from her current role as UCSD’s CTE Administrator of Curriculum and Academic Support to lead the district's Career and Technical Education program effective immediately.
During her tenure at UCSD, Hall has been instrumental in designing CTE career pathways programs, developing curriculum, and working with architects on the new CTE building. Her promotion promises a seamless transition as she continues working closely with Carly Calogero, the CTE Work-based Learning Coordinator and CTE Business Department Chair, and Mike Pagliaro, Math AIS Teacher and CTE Intern: Instructional Leader K-6. Prior to joining the district, Hall served as Director of School to Career Programs at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES and gained valuable classroom experience as both a special education and elementary school teacher at New York Mills Junior-Senior High School. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Exceptional Education from Buffalo State University and a Master's in Education from SUNY Cortland.
UCSD Superintendent Dr. Christopher Spence had this to say of Hall’s appointment, “Michelle Hall's promotion to Director of Career and Technical Education reflects our district's commitment to recognizing exceptional talent from within while advancing our bold vision for student success.
Throughout her time at UCSD, she has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to our CTE program, playing a vital role in curriculum development and the planning of our new CTE building. Her leadership comes at a crucial time as we expand our career and technical education offerings to prepare students for the high-demand jobs of tomorrow. Michelle's deep understanding of our district's needs and proven track record of success make her the ideal person to lead this program forward, ensuring our students graduate with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in an evolving workforce.
We are proud to have leaders like Michelle who not only grow with our district but help position Utica as a forward-thinking educational community focused on real-world student success.”
