District News: Message from Dr. Spence to UCSD Families

Dear Utica City School District Families,

Happy Valentine’s Day, Raiders!

As we approach our Mid-Winter Recess, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for our wonderful school community.

Today, we celebrate Valentine's Day, and it’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on what makes our district special—the caring relationships between our students, staff, and families. I'm continuously inspired by the kindness, respect, and support I witness throughout our schools.

As a reminder, our district will be closed for Mid-Winter Recess from Monday, February 17, through Friday, February 21. Classes will resume on Monday, February 24. I hope this break provides our students, families, and staff with a chance to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones.

Whether you're celebrating Valentine's Day, enjoying family time during the break, or both, I wish you all a safe and peaceful recess. Your commitment to our Raider community continues to make Utica City Schools an exceptional place to learn and grow.

Wishing you all a wonderful break! #uticaunited

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher M. Spence
Superintendent of School
