Utica City School District Announces Acting Superintendent of Schools

The Utica City School District Board of Education announced the temporary appointment of Steven Falchi as Acting Superintendent of Schools during a regular Board meeting on May 23, 2023.

Falchi will assume the role of Acting Superintendent of Schools immediately, replacing Brian Nolan who had served as Acting Superintendent of Schools since October 18, 2022. Falchi’s appointment will run through June 30, 2023.

Falchi has been an employee of the Utica CSD for more than 30 years. He currently serves as Chief Academic Officer, a position he has held for five years. Falchi previously served as Principal of Proctor High School, Assistant Principal of Donovan Middle School, and a Social Studies Teacher at Donovan Middle School, Proctor High School, and JFK Middle School.

“As a longtime employee of the District, Mr. Falchi has continually demonstrated his ability to lead at all levels and in a variety of situations,” said Board of Education President Joseph Hobika, Jr. “The Board is confident that the highly capable administrators and staff of the Utica City School District will continue to ensure our students attain the knowledge, skills and character necessary to become productive members of society throughout this transition.”
