The Utica City School District CTE department is extremely proud to be collaborating with Mohawk Valley Health System and Mohawk Valley Community College at Wynn Hospital.

Eight Proctor seniors began their Health Professions Pre-Apprenticeship experience through MVHS at the Wynn Hospital in April 2024. Students went through the application process, resume writing, interviewing, and orientation processes to be hired as food service workers and experience job shadowing opportunities in various healthcare departments.

MVHS hosted a lunch & learn that included MVCC and the Utica City School District to support students' next steps in the healthcare field.

All students have chosen to remain employed at Wynn Hospital as they begin their college journey at MVCC. The Utica City School District looks forward to our continuing partnership with MVHS and MVCC as we include the next cohort of seniors this fall to enter the pre-apprenticeship program to continue filling the healthcare pipeline of talent with our students!
