Proctor students toured the facilities of the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. While there, students learned about the production room and how the team store worked along with ticketing/front office corporate sales and a look into what the social media manager’s job entails. Students were also able to watch the Comets practice for an away game and experience what it is like to watch a game from the suites. This tied into both our Accounting and Marketing courses as students were able to see the different jobs within the facility and ask questions about sales, accounting, and marketing.
In the Q&A session, the staff stressed the importance of relationship building as it helped them get into the organization and is a large part of how they are successful in their roles. The staff also shared how they became a part of the organization and how students can get on the path to working in a professional sports organization.
The Comets were very generous in giving Proctor students, faculty, and staff a special offer for their March 8th and March 9th home games. A big thank you to everyone at the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium and the Comets Team and Staff for welcoming our students and giving back to the community!
