Students from Donovan Middle School and JFK Middle School attended a week-long STEM Camp at SUNY Polytechnic Institute where they are learning about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through drone construction and artistic production!
Students began U.S. Drone Soccer by constructing drones from scratch with help from representatives from CNY Drones followed by learning battery safety and battery maintenance to program, fly, and operating the drones.
Meanwhile, students participating in STEM through Art are focusing on learning the different forms of art and bringing them to life. Students are working on daily drawing journals, learning about the plant life cycle, and producing a camera obscura, which acts like a camera to capture images through lenses that are then transferred onto tracing paper where pictures can be drawn.
Thank you to SUNY Polytechnic Institute, CNY Drones, and Air & Space STEM Outreach for hosting Utica City School District students.
