Model UN Conference - March 2025

Proctor High School’s Model United Nations Club attended the 53rd annual United Nations Association of Rochester Model United Nations Conference at St. John Fisher University in Rochester on March 7 and 8, 2025. Eleven of our club members had a very fun and educational time learning about various political, social, technological, and economic issues that affect the world currently. Our students (along with students from approximately 50 other New York State high schools) participated in committees like the World Health Organization, Security Council, and the United Nations Children’s Fund. Students worked together in their committees to help create resolutions to global issues like “Bridging the Global Digital Divide” and “Reforming United Nations Peacekeeping Missions.” This experience allowed our club members to practice their research, writing, public speaking and critical thinking skills.

While our Model UN students did not win awards at this particular conference, they exemplified the true purpose of the United Nations which is to work well with others through respectful diplomacy and meaningful collaboration. Our club members represented our school professionally and proudly throughout the conference. While our conference season is now over for this school year, club members are eagerly anticipating the start of Model UN next school year.
