On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Dr. Spence had an opportunity to meet with students at Thomas R. Proctor High School in a series of Town Hall meetings throughout the day.
During the meetings, Dr. Spence shared his thoughts on the importance of doing the right things in order to maximize all of the opportunities afforded to students in the school district and as students at Proctor High School. He also had an opportunity to answer several questions posed by students about himself, his work in the school district and his aspirations for Proctor High School.
As part of the important work moving forward, Dr. Spence is currently initiating a Superintendent’s Council made up of students from across the school district. The Superintendent’s Council will enable and empower students to provide guidance to the him on pertinent subjects and issues, facilitate impactful dialogue concerning students' opinions, worries, and outlooks, collaboratively identify resolutions to complicated situations and provide feedback on educational initiatives and SEL opportunities in the District.
