Fifth grade students participated in an experiment that made dirty water clean by using different materials and techniques to remove the dirt from water such as sand, gravel, rocks and coffee filters. Students learned that water can be contaminated and the importance of clean water for human health and survival. They also learned about developing and implementing water treatment systems to ensure access to clean water.
