Black History Month Door Decorating Competition

Jones School recently commemorated Black History Month with a creative door decorating competition. Faculty, staff, and students collaborated to select a significant figure from Black history, engaging in research to learn about their chosen 'Hero in History.' Classrooms then transformed their doors into visual tributes, showcasing the achievements and impact of these individuals.

A school-wide exhibition, the 'Jones School Gallery of Doors,' allowed each class to tour the building, viewing and evaluating the displays. After careful consideration, Mrs. Klausner's second-grade class was awarded first place for their engaging portrayal of Michael Jordan, complete with a functional basketball hoop. Mrs. Winter's third-grade class earned a close second place with their informative display about Joseph Winters, the inventor of the fire escape ladder.

The school extends its congratulations to all participants for their dedication and creativity in honoring Black History Month.
