General Herkimer Educator Spotlight: Ms. Melissa Parisi

General Herkimer Elementary School is pleased to recognize Ms. Melissa Parisi, a distinguished educator with a longstanding commitment to the Utica City School District. Ms. Parisi, a graduate of Utica Notre Dame High School, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from LeMoyne College and subsequently obtained her Master's degree from SUNY Cortland.

Ms. Parisi's extensive 29-year teaching career began in the Oneida County BOCES Alternative Education program. For the past 26 years, she has served the students of UCSD, contributing her expertise at Jones, Martin Luther King Jr., and General Herkimer Elementary Schools. Her dedication and excellence in teaching were acknowledged in 2018 when she received the "Teacher of the Year" award. Furthermore, she has achieved National Board Certification, demonstrating her commitment to professional growth and high standards.

Throughout her remarkable career, Ms. Parisi has cultivated strong and meaningful relationships with both her students and colleagues. The Utica City School District is indeed fortunate to have Ms. Parisi as a valued educator and esteemed colleague.
