Conkling Elementary School's Green Team is back in action this year! The team has 15 student members from 5th and 6th grade.
The students continue to collect and recycle paper and plastic throughout the building on Fridays. The team also recycles returnable bottles and cans. Since 2021, the team has gathered and returned over 4000 bottles!!
This year the Green Team has taken on the mission to educate students of the importance of recycling plastic film. We now have Plastic Film Tuesdays with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize for the classroom submitting the most plastic film bag/pieces.
The Green Team has some exciting plans for the remainder of the year including participation in the Science Fair, a field trip to the Oneida County Recycling Center and a field trip to a gardening center!
