Albany Elementary Students Engineer Bridge Solution After Storybook Adventure

Students in Ms. Joy's class at Albany Elementary recently embarked on a creative learning journey combining literacy and engineering skills.

After listening to Mac Barnett's retelling of "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," the class engaged in a thoughtful discussion about key story elements, analyzing the classic tale's characters, setting, and plot.

The storytelling experience took an exciting turn when Mrs. Lucero presented the young learners with a hands-on STEM challenge.

Using their problem-solving abilities and teamwork, students enthusiastically constructed Lego bridges designed to accommodate a troll beneath them. The class adapted with creativity when they needed to substitute a dinosaur figurine for the troll, demonstrating flexibility in their thinking while applying engineering concepts inspired by the story.

These Albany Elementary students are building both bridges and critical thinking skills that will serve them well throughout their educational journey!
